"Treated with Dignity and Respect"

About: Royal Bolton Hospital

I attended the Endoscopy Unit yesterday, the 21st March, 2015, for a Gastroscopy. I was very apprehensive, not having had one before, but I can't fault them. I was quite nervous so decided to be sedated but then later on changed my mind. I needn't have worried because I was given instructions on how to cope with the procedure and there was someone there reassuring me all the time, and it worked very well. It was all over within about 15 mins and the only side effect I had was that my throat was slightly sore but it is fine now. Anyone about to undergo this procedure please don't be scared because every member of staff on the unit, treated me with dignity and respect and kept me informed every step of the way. I was only there for about 3 hours, from start to finish. Thank You to the Endoscopy Unit for you patience and care.

It is quite understandable that you were nervous, but we are very pleased to hear the procedure went well and you felt reassured. Thank you for letting us know.
