"Concerned about my dignity on cardiac ward"

About: Heartlands Hospital / Cardiology

(as the patient),

Two trainee nurses were asked by the nurse who was looking after Cardiac Ward where patients undergone either for angiography or stenting to fill in some forms, and the nurses started looking at my skin and asked me to lower down my pyjamas to the extent that I was totally naked and heard giggling sound made by the nurses. This was totally against someones dignity and if it was that important this should be done by male staff.

Dear Sir

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to post your recent experience at Heartland Hospital. Ms Dawn Chaplin, Head Nurse for Patient Experience was very concerned to read your comments and would like to reassure you that we take seriously issues that our patients highlight to us.

Dawn and I would like you to email patientservices@heartofengland,nhs.uk so that we can obtain some more information.

With kind regards

Iona
