I attended the Urgent Care Centre at Hillingdon Hospital on 17/03/15 with severe throat pain, fever and difficulty swallowing. I did not want to go to the hospital because I was concerned about the possibility of waiting 4-5 hours to be seen and did not think I had the physical or mental strength to sit in a waiting room for that long whilst feeling so unwell. However, after telephoning 111 and being told that I had to be seen within 6 hours and, being unable to get an appointment with my local GP within that timeframe I was left with no choice. I have to say I was delighted with the service I received. The receptionist and triage nurse were both kind and my wait to see the doctor was just short of one hour. The doctor treated me with genuine concern and compassion and was able to diagnose and prescribe quickly and efficiently, whilst also taking time to ensure that any concerns I had were alleviated. Feeling unwell is a horrible and sometimes terrifying experience for anyone whether you are a 29 year old male (as I am), a child, or a pensioner. The feeling of being cared for goes a long way to helping you get better so I would like to thank the staff at the Urgent Care Centre at Hillingdon Hospital for the level of service they showed me.
"Very pleased with the service."
