"intimated by aggressive, unprofessional..."

About: Erith & District Hospital

Was verbally abused and intimidated by one of the phlebotomists, who actually followed me out to reception shouting, finger pointing and getting in my face, reducing me to tears in front of waiting patients because I dared make a complaint about their dreadful attitude. I have issues with anxiety and it is beyond belief that an NHS employee is allowed to behave in such a manner. There was not even a supervisory member of staff on duty who I could raise concerns to at the time, so this person probably believes they are beyond reprimand and can get away with intimidating people. I am a healthcare professional myself and respect and dignity of the patient is absolutely paramount in our organisation, clearly one cannot expect the same here.

I am really sorry to read about your experience at Erith phlebotomy. The comment has been placed under the Urgent Care page by mistake as we do not run the phlebotomy service as well. I have passed your comments onto Lewisham and Greenwich Trust who are the Trust responsible for the Phlebotomy so that they can investigate further. Regional Manager Urgent Care- The Hurley Group
