"Long wait at Royal Bolton"

About: Royal Bolton Hospital / Ear, Nose and Throat

(as the patient),

I had treatment for Nasal Polyps on wards F5 and F6 at the Royal Bolton. The time I was left waiting before my operation was far too long, I spent 13 hours in a waiting room. However, the nurses on the ward were all very friendly.

I was angry and upset that as the day went on, no one on the ward could say when my operation would be.

I would just like to reiterate again the length of time I was left waiting in a very small waiting room, on a very warm day. Having been told not to eat or drink after midnight, just short of 13 hours in total. Which I personally found totally unacceptable. The nurses on the ward were all doing their best to apologise, I just hope they have learnt from this mistake.

It does occasionally happen that there are waits for operations that are longer than expected. We apologise that in this particular case you waited for such a very long time. If you would like to discuss this further please contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service on 01204 390193.
