I was taken to the A&E Department of Royal London Hospital after a week long migraine, severe stomach cramps and losing consciousness. The receptionist was amazing when I arrived in and did their best to calm me down while getting the needed details and booking me in. I was told to take a seat, given some water and was seen within 30 minutes. The doctor that I saw knew instantly what the stomach pain was (a bladder infection) and instantly took to looking at the possible cause of my migraine. In the end, they could not figure out the migraine but gave me a note advising my GP to refer me to the Migraine Clinic. The doctor gave me some painkillers and antibiotics for the infection. This was without a doubt the best visit to A&E possible and the receptionist and doctor were and are absolute testaments to the level of care the NHS strives for.
