"Bowling with the Nottingham Panthers!"

About: Orion Unit

(as a staff member),

The Nottingham Panthers campaign has got to be one of the best! I currently work at Alexander House Mansfield. The unit currently has 7 guys who are involved with a Rehabilitation Plan. Since getting in touch with Rachel, the guys have been hockey mad! When attending the game it gave the guys something to aim for when leaving the unit, it also provided a positive experience for the guys and the staff to attend something together. The guys after the match all had shirts which they did not want to take off.

I thought the guys attending a game was enough, but Rachel managed to organise a bowling match between the guys and the Panthers players. ! Rachel organised everything from booking the alley, sorting the players and making the teams. We just had to show up. The guys recieved there invites and were over the moon with excitement. Instantly putting there Panthers shirt on. The Panthers Players were incredible with the guys and mixed in well. Everyone was happy and having a good time. All the guys got signed souveniers which are going to be put up in the unit but also have fond memories of this experience.

This is a great campaign for everyone and gives people a unique experience!

Hi

Thank you for your posting - The check it out campaign is an excellent engagement tool and your posting is a perfect example of its success. It was a pleasure to organise your guys to attend a game, I know from speaking to them at ticket collection how excited they were to attend the game.

Bowling Event - Wednesday 18th March

As part of the partnership working the GMB Nottingham Panthers particiapate in Community Work and it was so easy to organise the bowling. I was personally overwhelmed to see the great benefit the service users had from a game of bowling -I too thought the players mixed in very well and encourage service users througout the games. I know the Panther players wanted to win but your guys gave them a good game.

Thanks again for your posting
