I am in surgical ward; found to have more than doubled alt (liver function test) which could be due to hepatitis b or c or anyother causes of liver damaged. I imformed the Nurse and doctor I was told it's normal and my surgical procedure was carried out without investigating hepatitis status. I may be suffering with hepatitis which might be the risk to pass to others. I would strongly suggest dont ignore any deranged lft before performing any surgical procedure. I am still in ward without explaining or investigating of raised lft. I might be dischrged home without any instruction as I sensed already with worries about my raised lft. What can I say about nhs service. Its not mistake is totally ignorance as I told on multiple occasions it requires further investigation foe raised lft. No luck. Good luck nhs and all my patient colleagues
