1. My wife Maureen, cracked her pelvis in Greece in October. The day after we got back to Canterbury we saw our Dr. at 15. 00 hrs. By 18. 00 she had gone to the hospital, had two sets of x rays and seen several medics. We couldn't believe that so much could be done in that time. Almost no waiting (didn't go to A and E). Return visits to see the consultant were on time and very encouraging. Finally for 6 weeks my wife had physio. She was very impressed by the young man who did this and also the woman who gave her soft tissue massage. My wife now walks better that she has for several years. She has a replacement hip (done in Naples after a fall) and can easily walk 3 miles in one go.
My wife had cataract removal at a NHS clinic in Herne Bay about two years ago. After having had very bad eyesight since the age of 8 she would then see without glasses! Brilliant. Great care.
2. Myself,Terry. Over the years I have had several operations in K & C Hospital: varicose vein removal, haemorrhoids, and TURPS. ALL the treatment was superb, and now at nearly 76 I do weight training and cycle up to 24 miles several times a week. I was al so provided with NHS hearing aids 18 months ago, having had private one for several years. The process for this was quick and easy, the hearing aids are better than the private ones I had.
My wife and I want to say a big thank you to the NHS and in particular to the Kent and Canterbury Hospital.
"Good care at Kent and Canterbury Hospital."
