"X-rays not available after a certain time"

Staff were very helpful when we attended with my son who had injured his ankle. We arrived at 4.30pm after checking that the unit was open until 6pm. Unfortunately this website didn't state that X-rays were only available until a certain time (not 6pm!) so this was a wasted journey for us as we then needed to go to King's Lynn A&E. This is where we would have gone in the first place if we'd known about the X-ray dept being shut.

Many thanks for taking the time to get in touch and share your experience. You quite right when they say that x-ray are not open to cover our Minor injury unit (MIU) opening hours. Our x-ray service manager has double checked the Cambs Community Services NHS Trust website and it does state that the opening times for North Cambs Hospital MIU are 08.30 to 6.00pm but x-ray care is available from 09.00 to 4.45pm. I'm really most sorry for the inconvenience that has been caused to you and your family. Please be assured that we take all feedback seriously – both good and bad as it helps us to improve the care we provide for our local community. Do you have any suggestions or comments on how we can improve our communications that publicise the opening hours of our x-ray department at North Cambs Hospital.
