I found a lump in my right breast and my GP referred me to the breast clinic at the Royal Hallamshire within two weeks. I then had a mammogram, ultra sound scan and needle biopsy. One week later I was told it was cancer and that I needed surgery. 10 days later I had a lumpectomy and lymph nodes removed. The care I received was excellent. I was allowed home the day after surgery. I’ve had to have fluid drained from my right arm pit but that procedure is quick and painless. I go back to see the surgeon on Wednesday 14th October to see if they got all of the cancer and then I will start my radio therapy at Weston park Hospital. I’ve got to have one every day Monday to Friday for five weeks (25 in total). Let’s hope this is all I need. In my opinion the care I’ve received is the very best, I couldn’t have asked for better.
