Last February we experience such dreadful care we were terrified of having to go back. One year on and the care in A/E, the acute medical unit and Sidmouth Ward were all exceptional. What made the difference? We complained last year and met with senior leaders in the hospital. They listened, all our complaints were founded. But not only did they listen they acted. My daughter now has a management plan for her longterm condition which everyone from the paramedics who came to the house, A/E and ward Drs worked to. This made her care much safer, it was less traumatic for my daughter but also for her family. The nurses we met were kind and compassionate, the charge nurse on Sidmouth was incredibly flexible with visiting hours so I could help care for my daughter and continue to work.It also made a huge difference that she was cared for on the gastroenterology ward with both Drs and nurses who really understood bowel conditions. Thanks to all involved. Our confidence in the RBH has been restored.
"One yaer later vast improvement"
