On Saturday 14 March I suffered a leg wound and my wife took me A+E at the Great Western Hospital. Although the department was busy I was assessed very quickly and a temporary dressing applied. There was a wait of maybe an hour and my leg was then treated and very neatly and carefully stitched by a consultant who also took time to keep my wife informed (she was a bit squeamish and chose to leave the treatment room). A nurse followed on with tetanus booster and anti-biotic prescription and I was advised on aftercare and follow up treatment. I had expected a long wait on a Saturday afternoon but I left the hospital a little over 3 hours after arrival of which well over an hour was spent actively treating and stitching the wound. All the staff (I saw at least 5) were very kind, informative and reassuring and I would like to thank you all very much. Very satisfied – it was even easy to park! Thank you. Nick Matthews
