"Very unprofessional attitude"

About: Gravesham Community Hospital

I walked into the minor injuries unit on Saturday 14th March 2015 and a nurse was shouting and swearing about something, it sounded like they were annoyed with someone who was not there, because theirs was the only voice I heard, they were not wearing a uniform and was wearing a red nose t shirt instead, as was another nurse, are they allows to wear these instead of their usual uniform? I know it was the weekend but this was really unprofessional! I did not stay to be treated and was very diss appointed in the nurses language in front of the patients , very rude and agressive

Hello Thanks for your review and please accept our sincere apologies for your experience in Gravesham Minor Injury Unit last Saturday. We have been in touch with the service manager who immediately started her investigations as a result of your comments. With regard to the wearing of the t-shirts, the manager did make enquiries for the staff to see if they would be able to wear them on red nose day, as they wear plain white t-shirts in the summer due to the heat, but it was considered that this was not appropriate and the staff were advised accordingly. The manager is appalled to hear that bad language was being used and at a high volume so that members of the public could hear. This is certainly not the type of behaviour she expects from her staff and wants you to be reassured that she will be speaking to the members of staff on duty that day as this behaviour is totally unacceptable. We very much hope that you will feel able to attend the Unit again in the future should you need to do so. If you wish to make an official complaint please don't hesitate to contact us.
