"Disgraceful 28 week wait for appointment"

After visiting the pain clinic in December 2014 I was happy with a swift appointment for an epidural pain injection in January 2015. I had been told that I should receive a call in 3 weeks to see how the injection had gone and to arrange for another appointment. 6 weeks later I called the pain clinic to inform that the injection hadn't worked at all and that I would like another appointment to see the consultant to discuss other options for pain relief.i have now received my appointment which is 28 weeks from now. How is this acceptable to leave someone in chronic pain for this length of time? When I complained all I was told was " well we are very busy at the moment" a total disgraces!
