"Uninterested"

About: Barnet Hospital

I visited the "pain management" out patients yesterday. I did not see the Consultant but a member of the team, I don't know their name as they never introduced them self to me. Despite me explaining the problem I had, they just talked "over" me, and appeared to take no notice of my explanation. They told me I had to make another appointment, and when I explained that I had waited 4 months for this appointment, they stated quite flippantly "You're lucky you could have waited 8 months". In every hospital we are reminded the staff should be treated with respect and courtesy, but it would appear the patients do not warrant the same consideration in BGH. At my age, 70, its stressful enough having to go to hospital without being treated as a second class citizen when I am there. I now await the next appointment with trepidation.

Sorry to hear that you had a bad experience at our hospital. If you would like to email details to rf.communications@nhs.net we would like to look into this on your behalf. Thanks.
