I was admitted to the CDU for 24 hours and given exemplary care. The nurses and nursing assistants were professional and caring throughout. My thanks and best wishes to all. The unit is clean and comfortable. My blood pressure and temperature were regularly checked. When I displayed a histemic reaction to a drug I was given, I was treated promptly and effectively. I was given great help with washing (difficult as I was hooked up to a drip). My only criticism is that I am astonished that NHS food is so bad. Due to sickness, I choose the sandwich option for my meals. It consisted of highly processed cheese on white bread, sugar-laden yoghurt and high fructose orange juice. I struggled to find much nutritional value in any of it. Where's the wholemeal bread and sugar-free natural yoghurt?
