"A hospital with a professional caring team."

About: Conquest Hospital

My husband fell in Rye ( we live near Sevenoaks) and fractured his patella (knee cap)! The ambulance took him to the Conquest Hospital, Hastings. The A&E team were excellent, listening to us and answering our questions clearly. He needed an operation to repair the patella. He was transferred to Richard Ticehurst ward where the staff were warm and caring. He had the op and came home the next day. Each member of staff introduced themselves to us, so we knew who we were talking too, what a wonderful thing to do. Thank you to all of the people that came in contact with us, you know who you are!

Thank you for your positive posting on NHS choices about the care your husband received from the A&E department and Richard Ticehurst ward at the Conquest Hospital. It's always encouraging for staff to recieve positive feedback as this recognises their good work and commitment to providing a high quality service. We are particularly pleased that all staff introduced themselves to you, as the trust is currently supporting a simple campaign called "hello, my name is......". This was was developed by Dr Kate Granger, a terminally ill hospital consultant from Yorkshire, who became frustrated with the number of staff who failed to introduce themselves to her when she was in hospital. We send you our best wishes and hope that your husband is making a good recovery from his injury.
