"Lack of decent parking facilities when discharged"

About: Medway Maritime Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as a relative),

My husband had knee replacement surgery was in hospital only 2 days. When I bought him home nowhere to park my car all spaces full. so I parked in aside street. Walked to hospital collected a wheel chair I had to leave him sitting outside main entrance lucky it was sunny.

Nowhere to park so I parked near Ambulance bay asked by a workman how long am I parking there. I said as long as it takes to get my husband from wheelchair to car. Taking that I am nearly 70 it was a very stressful experience.

Could you not have a designated area for patient discharge.

Awaiting your reply.

Regards

Please accept my apologies for the poor experience in relation to parking facilities.

During peak times parking can be an issue with only limited spaces for drop off and pick up. Fifty additional spaces have been created for visitors although as the demand grows so will the need for parking. We will keep your comments in mind when reviewing the parking facilities, going forward. Thank you for your feedback.
