"Thanks for nothing"

About: Ballenden House

(as the patient),

The first time I saw a psych there she wrote some horrendous things about my appearance (surely the jewellery or hair style I have means nothing towards my mental health. ) At the end of the meeting she not only brought my partner in to tell her, not me, what was wrong with me (making me feel like a child) but also told me that to stop hearing voices I've to tell them "who are you, you are not God".

My 2nd appointment years later was horrible. Not only did no one tell me I already had a diagnosis years earlier, but they immediately relinquished my care. They hear what they want to hear, and no matter how many times you correct them they will not listen if it takes you out of their preconceived notions of what I should or shouldn't be experiencing.

Cut to months later when my GP tells me I have a diagnosis and that it isn't treated in the UK. Thanks for nothing. I feel worse than I did when I went in.
