"My Husband was treated like he wasn't even there."

My Husband is deaf so I asked the Doctor to face my husband when they spoke, the doctor didn't they kept covering their mouth, I again asked the doctor to speak up and this Doctor said..."Well I'll speak to you then and you can tell him" how is this supposed to make my husband feel? This is an add on to the stress of actually being at the memory services. We have another appointment here, I'm not looking forward to this disrespectful behaviour again.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that this was your experience and acknowledge that the approach taken during your husband’s appointment was unacceptable.

We work hard to put the needs of individuals at the centre of all we do and clearly didn’t get it right in this case. We would value contact with you before you and your husband attend the next scheduled appointment in our memory services. Please get in touch if you would find it helpful to discuss your experience in more detail. You can do this by contacting our customer service team by telephone on 0800 587 2108 or by email: customer.servicesswyt@nhs.net
