While preparing to leave Woburn Centre Parc I became unwell. Paramedics were called who decided, in the circumstances to take me by Ambulance to Bedford Hospital A&E unit. Once there I was quickly and very efficiently seen and transferred to AAU with the diagnosis of SVT. Further tests showed Kidney difficulties. My experience on the ward was that nursing staff and assistants worked in exemplary fashion in the care of all on the ward. One proviso was the dearth of washing and lavatory facilities. I was escorted to one which, even the nursing assistant found difficult to countenance. This apart, my treatment at AAU could not have been bettered. In my view this belies the political and media view the NHS is in greater crisis than everyone realizes. I know there are huge financial constraints and that economies are being made but I would like to assure all those who had my care in mind could expect my support in the future. I live in Wales and I realize my stay could not be a prolonged one and that it was in all interests to prepare me to make my way home to Wales. I thank you all.. .
