"Stroke ward - 9 North"

My father is 82 years old and suffered a stroke. Upon arrival the first response team were excellent and very professional. My father lost the ability to speak and can only say 'yes' or 'alright'.. due to a previous stroke he is unable to read or write. He was admitted to a room of his own, visiting hours are between 3pm - 8pm once we left, the nurses asked him questions however his only response would be ok or alright as they didnt read his notes. At 5am he was unable to attract / explain that he needed to use the bathroom. He therefore (having a stroke that morning) proceeded to do what was natural get off the bed and go to the bathroom. He pulled the IV's out of his arm.. pulled him self to the end of the bed, which is where he fell to the floor.. and laid there for 30 minutes unable to call for help as he is no longer able to speak. When he was found he had wet through and was sick over himself, with blood everywhere from the IV disconnection. When my mother called the following morning the nurse said ' he had a fall, but having breakfast now' with no emotion. My mum rushed down and then actually found out what happened. She spoke to the doctor who said do not get out of bed, if you need to use the bathroom wet your bed and it will be cleaned. So a very proud, respectful man is meant to wet the bed rather than the nurses being caring and checking? So far my father has been in there care for 5 days, my mother has said repeatedly to the nurses / staff that she would leave his food requests written on his table. All five nights been ignored, 3 nights he wasn't made a dinner at all and was completely forgotten about the other 2 wrong dinners as he just ok to what they suggested. As my father is unable to speak bar yes or alright when they come around during the day ... how is this any level of care!!!
