"A Forth Valley Royal Success Story"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Urology

(as a relative),

I am very pleased indeed to be able to report a "Very Happy Husband" story.

My wife has now had the kidney with the cancerous tumour removed and the whole procedure was excellent from start to finish. Staff at the pre-op assessments were great and dealt with all my wife's concerns in a very caring way. The operation was carried out using keyhole surgery by Mr Gavin Lamb and his team and we cannot praise them too highly for their skills and consideration. Considering that my wife is in her mid sixties, with several underlying health problems, it is a remarkable tribute to their talents, that she was able to return home after just one night in ICU and two nights on Ward B31.

Again, the enviroment and the standard of care on both ICU and B31 could not be faulted. Many thanks to everyone.

Now my wife is recovering rapidly, she is hoping that on one of her future visits to FVR she might encounter the "doctor" who so upset her in December. If she does, she will take great pleasure in telling them exactly what she thinks of them, and telling them what exactly they can do with their overblown ego. Watch this space!

Dear Very Happy Husband

Thank you so much for feedbing back to us how your wife's journey is progressing. I was delighted to read that your wife's surgery and care went so well and that she is recovering well.

I have shared your feedback with the staff and departments that you mentioned in your posting, they asked me to pass on their thanks for such kind and heartfelt words, it really is wonderful for the staff to hear of such positive experiences of care, and the impact and difference their support and care makes to patients and their families.

I hope that your wife is continuing to recover well,

Kindest regards

Pauline Marland
