About: University Hospital Of North Durham

My 92 year old mother was recently admitted to the University Hospital of North Durham, and after two days was transferred to Ward 11. After several days treatment on that ward it became increasingly obvious that she was not to recover. The staff on Ward 11 were wonderful. They maintained her dignity, and at every step of the way they listened to her concerns. She felt that she was part of a family. Our family cannot sufficient praise the staff of Ward 11 for their care, understanding, sympathy, maintenance of dignity, and professionalism. They are wonderful, and we will forever be grateful to them and that my mother was where she was when she passed on.

Dear Phil and Mary Thank you for providing feedback on your late mother's recent admission to the University Hospital of North Durham and Ward 11. I am very pleased to hear that both your family and she had a positive experience and that you were pleased with the care she received from the staff on the ward and that they cared for her so very well towards the end of her life. The Trust is grateful for all feedback, positive or negative, as it means we can better understand what is important to our patients, and your very kind comments will be shared with the ward sister and the Matron. I know they will be encouraged by your positive comments. Thank you for leaving your comments on NHS Choices.
