Good afternoon I attended the Endoscopy Unit for a Colonoscopy yesterday morning. I was extremely anxious. It probably didn't help that I had read many horror stories regarding this procedure on the internet; combined with some truly dreadful hospital experiences (elsewhere). I was on the verge of not going ahead with the procedure. However, I am so very glad that I did! All the staff, without exception were wonderful. From the warm welcome from the Receptionist, the lovely Nurse who tried to ease my fears, the two people who talked me through the procedure and consent forms, the very understanding and patient (!) Endoscopist and the two nurses who assisted in the Procedure Room to the nurses in the Recovery area. I feel ashamed to have made such a fuss! I was also impressed with how slick, well-organised and professional everything was. Everyone worked well as a team. It also has to be one of the cleanest, tidiest hospital I have visited. We all read headlines on a daily basis saying how awful the NHS is. Well all I can say is, this hospital/unit and it's staff clearly represent the very best of the NHS! With kind regards and thank you! Tania Yuill
