"I would rather have a baby at home"

About: Liverpool Womens Hospital / Maternity care

(as a relative),

My sister went in to have her baby two days ago. Not only does she feel that she had a hard time, they also sent her husband home and told him he could not stay as she was going to be too long. Then when she had the baby they put her up on a ward and she was put in a room by her self. No one knew she was there till the next morning. She then developed a cough infection and was in a lot of discomfort. Then she needed a blood transfusion which I think made her worse and stressed as no one had told her what was going on. Then she was put on a drip with fluids, but the machine was faulty and she had to keep pressing it all night so it did not make a noise. When she did call, she told me the nurses said they’d be back in a min and didn’t. I feel she did not get the rest she needed but just a lot of stress. To top it off she now has work men drilling and banging in the room above all day. I am taking this complaint further as I think the standard of care has decreased. If I ever have a baby I would rather have it at home.
