"Standard of nurses is not what it used to be"

About: Barnsley Hospital / Gastroenterology

(as the patient),

I feel staff don’t seem to differentiate between day and night regarding the amount of noise they made. Couldn’t they be asked to perhaps wear soft shoes and not to shout down corridors at night? On asking the sister, very politely, if they could perhaps cut the noise down, I was spoken to very rudely; she continued to treat me unpleasantly until I came home.

I think some nurses spoke to patients inappropriately, (especially elderly patients). I witnessed an old lady (terminally ill) press her call button, to no avail, most times, leaving her very distressed. I am sorry that all this has to be reported but in my opinion the standard of many nurses that I saw is not what it used to be.
