I have been a patient at this surgery now for 10 years. It has always been and friendly. Sorry let me change that slightly. It was and still can be, just depends on who the receptionist is. So what is the story? Really trivial to most but to me very important. They have a policy of 48hrs for repeat prescriptions. I went in today and said can I please have this by tomorrow as I’ve mislaid my medication. Reply in loud voice was "your always doing this (repeated it 2-3 times in loud voice). You know its 48 hrs for prescription." it really incensed me and made me very angry. My reply was " don't bother dear I’ll come back in 2 days time". They replied "I’ll do it for you now but you always do this". I said "don't do me any favours dear", and left. Now let me make it clear I wasn’t rude but angry. I have done this several times before, not given 48hs notice that is. BUT I am on so much medication that I genuinely can't remember to get repeat prescription until I’m about to take my medication and find I don't have any. Plus my medications finish at different times. It’s not that I’m being awkward or anything like that I genuinely can't remember. However, it’s only recently, past few months, I have done this and I have been a patient for 10 years. It’s like my memory is slowly going. I am 47 but eating so much medication morning and night, I could swear it’s bad as well as good, and having side effects. So I don't do this on purpose, I can't help it. But this receptionist really tried to embarrass me in front of other people. I felt like saying a lot more but thought it was best to leave. Some receptionists have attitude problems, while one or two are real angels.
The other main point about this clinic is that you can wait anything up to 1 hour from your appointment time before you get to see the doctor
