In the last few years I have had numerous problems which necessitated me visiting every hospital in my region. Hallamshire, Rotherham, Doncaster, Bassetlaw, etc. I feel that in a couple of the hospitals (Hallamshire and Rotherham) the staff at all levels were trained by Garage repair departments. They took one look at you, do a sharp intake of breath and shake their heads. I feel I was treated as a necessary evil. Now, when I went to Doncaster I found the areas I visited were a cock up. They appear to me to be over burdened by patients and patient visitors. The staff do try but I think they are totally swamped by numbers.
Bassetlaw appear to have got it right; service, civility and a friendly smile. One thing I would like to point out, it’s the singer, not the song. The song is almost right. There will always be problems no matter how much you try, but try and keep these at a minimum. I feel it’s time to get the ‘singer’ sorted out. Being civil costs nothing.
