I have had a diagnosis of bipolar disorder (formerly known as manic-depression) for 20 years.
It is only in the last three years that becoming a voluntary patient initially and this time a patient under section 3 I found this very difficult to accept because I felt my freedom was curtailed and it took four weeks for my psychiatrist to include the family as a pre-session time.
We have had two weeks in since then, that I was allowed out for two hours escorted leave and then allowed out to my different meetings, because meeting with friends and colleagues is a positive outcome of my life.
We as a family have been feeding on the negativity of our thoughts instead of the positive and need professional help, this is what I would like to do as our way forward - learn to be positive.
