"Mum is cared for very well"

About: Springwood

(as a relative),

Mum is cared for very well. I am unable to care for her 24/7, I tried for three months. The staff know mum even to what she ate for breakfast, dinner or tea. I call different days and times they are always helpful. The bad bits are not enough staff as there is only one on at night. Even if she is unwell the care is there and GP service. Thank you.

Dear Absolute873, We should never underestimate the very difficult role of a carer, especially when someone like yourself must give up their 24 hour role and then must count on others to carry it on. I share your concern about staffing (as does family carer glacier 107) that generally we could always use more. Although staffing levels are regulated by the Care Quality Commission and therefore out of my control, I make every effort to ensure that although we might not have the quantity of staff we would all like, the quality is indeed under company control. It is the quality of staff to which the home and the organisation must always aspire. Feedback such as yours that recognises the positive work that is happening for your mum and others here at Springwood, helps us continually move towards the best service possible. Thank you for being in touch.
