NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde

I work in a small team in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde which seeks to involve patients and carers in the work of the NHS. The biggest part of my role is in managing feedback projects across the Board area, one of which is Patient Opinion. It is my job to give our patients and carers the opportunity to give us feedback, and to make sure that this is passed to the right people to help us improve the services we provide.

Dear Verbal574,

Thank you for getting in touch. Following your post, I have looked at the signage in Clinic O.

When entering Clinic O there is wall signage directly in front, displaying the following:

"For hearing aid clinic and batteries, please follow the arrows, do not check in at reception". This signage has been printed on yellow paper, which has been laminated and is three A4 pages joined together.

Arrows have then been placed at the side of the reception desk and point to the audiology reception. This has also been printed on yellow paper, which has been laminated and is two A4 pages joined together.

These arrows may be difficult to see when the recption desk is busy.

There is also an upright floor sign which advises patients for the hearing aid clinic and batteries, not to check in at reception. Again this has also been printed on yellow paper, which has been laminated and is two A4 pages joined together. This signage was made up by our Medical Records Department.

I have emailed our Facilities contact asking for advice regarding the signage and will provide any updates as soon as possible.

Kind regards,

Juliet Boag

Dear Verbal574, I just wanted to give you a quick update on the changes we have made to the signage in Clinic O following your post on Patient Opinion. As I mentioned the last time, I reviewed the signage with our Facilities colleagues and agreed that there were changes we could make so that the Hearing Aid Clinic is better signposted within the Clinic. I am pleased to say that we have now have new, permanent signage in place – I’ve added a few pictures below so you can see the changes we made: Thanks again for getting in touch and I hope that this makes it a little easier for you and all of our other patients. Kind Regards, Juliet Boag
