"so difficult to get bedpans for my mother"

About: Bromley Healthcare / District nursing

(as a relative),

My Mum has been under the care of District Nurses for some time, recently her condition has become worse. Following several falls during the night when she had got up to use the commode, I asked if it would be possible for her to have a bedpan to prevent her having to get up when she is half asleep and disorientated. To my astonishment The District Nurses did not have any bedpans nor were they able to get just one for my mother. I cannot comprehend this especially when they have provided other equipment for my mother. With their access to both Bromley and Lewisham hospitals I would not have thought it was so difficult to get a bedpan.
