"Every member of staff has treated my Father with respect"

About: Countess Of Chester Hospital / Accident and emergency Countess Of Chester Hospital / General medicine

(as a relative),

My 85yr old Father was admitted to A&E nearly seven weeks ago!

That was a tough night; a very caring Doctor sat my mother down and told us that My Father was very poorly. Next day we moved to the acute care ward, the nurses here seemed to perform miracles, My Father was improving day by day. After a few more days when he had stabilised we moved to Ward 43.

Obviously my mother has been very concerned about what may happen to her Husband of 45 years, many relatives and Neighbours filled her mind with scare stories of how bad this ward was, how they don’t care, how dirty everything is, and the food!!

Well my Father is about to leave hospital, and I have to say all the stories were 100% wrong, Without exception every member of staff have treated my Father, Mother and our family with dignity and respect. From the consultants, Doctors, Ward Manager, Staff and all the Nurses, Physios and Carers. The Hospital is a credit to humanity, these people do this job because they care and each and every one of you deserves the recognition from the general public.

I only have one negative comment, when new patients arrive; there families always come with that negative attitude, and lack of respect for the nurses and staff. I think it’s the culture of the “daily mail” and how bad things are.

Well in my view not at the Countess, You are a credit to your profession.
