"Lack of information"

About: King George Hospital

If a patient is fitted with a catheter why can't you provide an information leaflet that explains what has been done, together with care instructions, possible side-effects, details of any catheter clinics and visits needed? Other hospitals manage to do this. Try looking on Google, there are several downloadable information leaflets, but not one from King George Hospital! Surely this would help your patients if they actually know what is going on, rather than leaving them in the dark, or is that another way of controlling them?

Thank you for your comment on NHS Choices. I will investigate what information is available for patients with a catheter. We want to make sure our patients feel well informed about their treatment and I am sorry you did not have any information to hand to guide you. Yours sincerely, Nadeem Moghal Medical Director
