I recently developed a sudden and very painful acute tendinitis on my shoulder. I had tried over-the-counter codeine and it did nothing to reduce the pain. On Sunday 22/02/15 at 10am my wife drove me to the Mount Vernon Minor Injuries Unit expecting to wait for hours as the person in charge of the triage would surely have placed me at the end of a very long queue. To my surprise, I was dealt with in a very efficient and friendly manner by the Receptionist and was seen by a professional within 10 minutes. The person in charged was just brilliant and, after having done a thorough assessment, prescribed me a strong pain killer and made a few recommendations to ease the pain (including using the vacuum around the house which they suggested as very effective to alleviate the pain...mmmm). They were caring, humorous, very knowledgeable and very professional. I walked away 20 minutes after having arrived, having had an excellent experience. Please pass on my most sincere thanks. The shoulder improved rapidly and the pain disappeared after a few days. I must admit though that I have failed to follow their entire recommendations and stayed away from the vacuum cleaner until the pain receded.... Many thanks.
