Excellent care for my wife on Labour Ward, with amazing (clinical professionalism and kindness as human beings) anaesthetist and midwife -thank you. The obstetrician was excellent as well. Excellent care in NICU - thank you to all the staff there Mixed ant-natal care 1. Excellent community midwife in East Dulwich Team 2. Excellent parent classes - really helped for preparing 1st time parents 3. Lack of maternal choice when request for elective Caesarian Section was proposed by my wife towards the end of her pregnancy. Told that she would need to see a councillor should she want to proceed with this option. This was upsetting and seemed to suggest that she was not of sound mind. Terrible care in Post-Natal Ward: 1. No post-Caesarian Section follow-up with Obstetrician 2. No post-epidural follow up with Anaesthetist 3. X4 drug errors (giving too high a dose of pain killers). Very rude when this was pointed out to staff as if patient/husband don't know what they were talking about and daring to challenge staff. No apology given when error was confirmed and then further errors made afterwards. Assumption that this was not declared as an (serious) incident. 4. Staff seemed unaware of Friends and Family Test procedure for patients to provide feedback. 5. Red book not completed and so no evidence that baby was assessed as per national requirements. Staff said it was not King's policy to have to fill in the book, which appears to conflict with national guidance. 6. Rudely and aggressively given 40 minutes to get out of the hospital as "we need your bed for someone else".
"very mixed care - from the excellent to the..."
