I am 45 years old & had a full hip replacement on 2nd Jan 2015, I was admitted to Lyndon 3 ward on Friday morning & left on Sunday evening. I like everyone else had heard some terrible stories about Lyndon 3 ward & I was very nervous about going into hospital. I can honestly say I could not fault all the staff who were involved in my procedure, from the minute I walked onto the ward to minute I walked out the staff couldn't do enough for me. There were cleaners cleaning the ward twice a day, the food was ok as good as you'd expect & there was plenty of choice, I suppose it just depends how fussy you are. All the nurses/staff nurses treated you as if you were special, they really tried their hardest to do their best for you. I really don't know how they do it, they work extremely long hours, one of the staff nurses had done a 13hr day & for the whole time she had a lovely smile on her face & was so pleasant. Another nurse that was doing long hours & helped me so much, she never moaned & generally went out of her way to help. I never understood the saying nursing is a vocation until I stayed, it really is because I can't imagine anyone would want to do that job unless they were totally dedicated. If anyone is worried about staying at Lyndon 3 I hope this review helps, I think its always easy to moan about things but people never write good things. I'm now recovering well & I'm so grateful for all the help & support I got when I was in hospital.....
