My 83 yr old dad got admitted 4.2.15, he was confused & quite poorly.. We discoverd he had low sodium level due to medication prescribed off his GP. Went onto AEU, family stayed overnight, next night we were asked to leave it up to the nurses/Drs to care for him as was very distressing to see our dad in such a confused & sometimes aggressive state, so we left only to get a phone call to say he had fallen! Dad got moved to ward 2, were over the last month he has had 8 falls! 8! Last fall on Friday resulting in a broken hip, operated on Saturday, plate & screws put in. He then fell out off his bed on Sunday bashing his head which is now bruised.. Family have put in a complaint but I'm not sure our darling dad will survive this fall. We had hope on Friday of him coming home in the coming weeks, now we don't. This has & is the worst deteroation of any1 I have ever seen in my life! My poor dad. All because of low sodium levels ? he & us are going thru hell.
"8 falls in 28 days!"
