"Wonderful staff at Solihull breast clinic"

About: Solihull Hospital / Breast surgery

(as a relative),

I have already contributed a story under Tedwood 1.

This is a continuation, my wife went back to Solihull Breast clinic last Thursday for the results from her surgery. The result was my wife required to return for more surgery to remove the Lymph Nodes.

Mr Haq booked my wife in for surgery on the Monday of this week. As before everyone from the surgical team and the ward staff were outstanding, my wife was made comfortable and reassured all would be well.

The outstanding service does not stop there, my wife was contacted by one of the nursing staff on Tuesday to check on her well being. Following on from this the Breast team reqested my wife to make an appointment at our local surgery (Hall Green Health clinic) for this Wednesday to have her dressings changed.

This is when the NHS let my wife down. She arrived at the clinic, checked in via the Screen and was told to wait in a certain area. To cut a long story short after waiting for three quarters of an hour to be told she did not have an appointment.

Who comes to the rescue? Solihull Breast Clinic. My wife phoned the clinic by this time stressed, to be told to come straight to the clinic where she was looked after.

I cannot be more grateful to the wonderful staff at Solihull Breast Clinic, congratulations to you all.

Dear Tedwood 1

Thank you so much for taking the time to post your further feedback regarding your wife's experience with our Breast Service at Solihull Hospital.

The Breast Care Team do provide a very specialised service, supporting patients and their families at what are often the most worrying, vulnerable times in their lives.

I hope that your wife is continuing to recover from her surgery, and please be assured that I will forward your kind comments to the Breast Care Service who will ensure that your feedback is communicated to all members of the team.

I hope that this is acceptable.

With Kind Regards

Marie
