"Life savers"

About: Eastbourne District General Hospital

I experienced first hand the quality of all services from emergency ambulance to hospital care on of all days Friday 13 February. The ambulance arrived within minutes of the 999 call, technicians were quick to diagnose a heart attack able to send my details ahead to the hospital and all the time putting me at ease explain all the time what was happening and what to expect when we arrived at the hospital. On arrival everyone there was understanding and helpful, and you felt safe as they were very professional and all had set jobs to do. I was explained what was going to happen, and within an hour I was on the ward where again sister and nurses helpful and caring. The following day I was released and now at home recovering. Big thanks to all involved in as far as I am concerned saving my life.

Dear Peter Thank you for taking the time to post your comments on NHS choices. We are so pleased to hear that you are now doing well after what must have been such a frightening experience. As a Trust, we are committed to providing a high quality standard of care and your posting clearly describes that this was hugely achieved by staff in both the A&E department and Cardiology. Please be assured that your expression of appreciation will be shared with all the staff concerned. It's always very encouraging for staff to recieve positive feedback.
