"Royal Bolton - friendly but dirty wards"

About: Royal Bolton Hospital

(as the patient),

The staff were friendly on D1 and C1 but the food portions were too small and tasteless. I felt the A&E doctor I saw had no bedside manner, he would ask me a question and whilst I was answering him all he did was look away when I was speaking.

The cleaners need supervision, the floors were mopped before being sweeped. The floors are being moped with dirty water (water not changed often enough). I found a moulded strawberry near my bed which must have been lying there for ages as I had never had any strawberries during my stay. The cleaners need instructions or shown how to clean.

I would like to thank the nurses on duty in the assessment ward on D2, they were friendly and helpful even though they were extremely busy.

Thank you for your comments. We have forwarded the issues you raised regarding the A&E doctors communication with you to the clinical lead in A&E who will raise it with all his medical colleagues.
