"Wonderful Treatment"

About: Royal Bournemouth General Hospital

I attend once every two years for a gastroscopy and dread it as the day approaches. Once in the unit the anxiety is naturally still there but the treatment by all the staff without exception helps alleviate any major distress. On this occasion I have to single out two particular members of staff who helped me through what could have been a distressing session. The information given to me and being made to feel part of the whole process helped enormously. So. A big thank you to all the staff from start to finish. I know I will still feel anxious on the next occasion but I will remind myself of my experience today to reduce the butterflies.

Dear Mr Oaten Your kind comments are very much appreciated and the impact of such praise on our staff is tremendous. I am pleased to hear that all the staff were able to help alleviate your anxiety about the treatment and provide you with information and input into your procedure. I will be sure to pass on your comments to the sister in charge to share with her team as I know how much they appreciate them. I wish you well for the future and hope that your next check in two years will be less stressful again. Regards Sue Mellor Head of Patient Engagement
