My mother who is in constant severe pain due to another condition went to see a Consultant at Chippenham. An ultrasound should have taken place before the appointment. However, Ruh ignored her wishes and made it for another hospital. As a wheelchair user this was impossible. The best they could do was to make an appointment after the consultation at Chippenham. On the day of the consult, the receptionists were pleasant. However, the consultant was nearly 40 minutes late. We asked how much longer they would be and told about 5 minutes. As that time passed by we asked again. The nurse apologised and tried to with best of intentions make light of the fact of the length of time by saying "that's the nhs." With no time given as to when we would see the consultant and the fact we saw him walking around, we left. Nobody minds waiting 5 or 10 minutes but not 40 minutes. Especially when you are in constant pain. There was no good reason why there was such a delay.
