"Laparoscopic cholecystectomy"

I was a day case patient, on the 25th of February I was firstly admitted on to the access lounge before my surgery. I was then visited by the anaesthetists and doctors that would be performing my surgery and by the nurse who would be looking after me. The whole team were brilliant I was very nervous about the procedure and they all managed to put me at ease. They were all friendly and approachable. My mum was able to wait with me in the access lounge until I went to theatre, this was great as not all hospitals allow this. I went down to theatre and waited there for a few minutes, the staff there were friendly and chatty which relaxed me. The staff in recovery were excellent I felt cared for and was given a drink of water and some painkillers before I went back on the ward. I was monitored closely by the nurse in recovery she was great. The staff that looked after me on the day case unit were brilliant, dedicated and hard working I felt cared for and despite how busy they were they would get me anything I asked for or needed. I only used my buzzer once because they would come over and ask me if I needed pain relief or a drink or anything. I really can't thank the team that looked after me yesterday enough, I wasn't too well as my blood pressure was low and I was sick from the anaesthetic a few times. I was really nervous and they were all brilliant. The care I was given was excellent and they are a brilliant team.
