"Mini bus service in Knowsley"

About: Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital NHS Trust HQ / Respiratory medicine

(as the patient),

I live in Halewood, Knowsley.

Last Thursday a nice lady named Nicky from Healthwatch Knowsley came to give a talk at the Knowsley Older People's group in the Halewood Leisure Centre on Healthwatch Knowsley. She mentioned that there is a community transport service operating in Knowsley and for me to make enquiries with you.

I rang the 0151 449 3954 number and asked about this service but was told by the young lady who answered that there is a mini bus available but it doesn't do a one-to-one service, only a bus for a group of people to use. I think it would be very useful if there was a pick-up one-to-one service available as I am disabled (use portable oxygen, but can walk). At the moment I have to get taxis to get me to places. I am about to start on a Pulmonary Rehab exercise programme organised by Liverpool Heart & Chest Hospital and this involves me attending for physio at the Halewood Leisure Centre twice a week for 8 weeks. If there was a Knowsley mini bus service available, this would be great for me, and there may be other participants who also live in the Knowsley area who don't have transport who could also use the service.

I look forward to your comments.
