"Dangerous Disregard"

My son has been mentally ill for several years. He has had numerous stays at the local mental health facility. In all of this time he has not improved. We have had two conflicting diagnoses. I feel the doctors at this hospital are unhelpful and sometimes uncompassionate. One doctor actually insinuated that my son was play acting and when my son told him that he was suicidal, he replied with, “So what can we do about that if you take your life that is your choice.” I believe that he should be held to account should my son take his own life as he was not prepared to listen to my son. I have lodged a complaint as recourse should my son carry through his threat to end his life. In my personal opinion this professional was not at all professional in his manner and did not show any patient care.
