I am so cross have been unable to see my mother as she is on a closed ward due to bugs only to find out when phoning and enquiring how she is they tell me she has visitors when asked is the ward still closed they answered yes .either the wards are closed to all visitors or its opened you can't have it both ways ,,am fuming

We are sorry that you experienced difficulties visiting your mother during her stay at the Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust and for the distress that this has caused you. During outbreaks of norovirus visiting restriction are implemented on inpatient areas to reduce the risk of the infection spreading. However, you were clearly given conflicting information regarding the visiting restrictions, for which we would like to sincerely apologise.
