"Impressed by detail of care"

I selected to have my operation at CircleBath though the NHS Choose & Book service. Whilst I was able to see a consultant very quickly, I wasn't impressed with difficulties when it came to arranging a date for the procedure itself. Despite needing surgery as soon as possible my operation was put back by more than a month from the original date because of a staffing problem. However, once in the hospital staff couldn't have done a better job of taking care of me. I was made to feel comfortable and attended to at every step. My day surgery turned into an overnight stay for medical reasons and I was immediately taken to a private room where my husband was able to stay on a sofa bed. If I hadn't been so unwell it would have felt more like a hotel than a hospital! Since then I have been back for an MRI where once again I felt like a completely thorough job was being done with my care and welfare. Staff even insisted I was given something to eat and drink before leaving as I'd had to fast before the scan. Often it's the little touches and gestures that make the difference. Overall the levels of care are fantastic and medical staff seem to do a wonderful job. Just frustrating the administration side let experience down a bit.
